About Ruth Orkin.

Ruth Orkin was a self-taught award-winning photographer. He was born in America. He was known for the photograph An American Girl in Italy. She also took a lot of photos about famous people, such as Lauren Bacall, Doris Day ans so on. She also married a photographer. They collaborated on two major independent feature films "Little Fugitive" and "Lovers and Lollipops".

Most of her works were Black and White color. She loved to photograph portraits. She learned how to take photos by herself. Some of the works were people's back view.

Her objectives are children, girls or races. She liked to take portrait photos. She said "Being a photographer is making people look at what I want them to look at."

In my opinion, her photos were full of energy. Although they are black and white. I could see she likes to take young people, such as girls or children's photos. Also she liked to take race photos. Those are really energetic. She used her own style.

About Fauvism.
Fauvism means artists using strong color to emphasized the work. Most of them are the representational or realistic values retained by Impressionism.

Famous artist Gustave Moreau was the movement's inspirational teacher. He was a Symbolist painter. He was viewed by critics as the group's philosophical leader until Matisse was recognized as such in 1904.

Maurice de Vlaminck saw Van Gogh's work for exhibition, then he loved his work. He started to work by sqyeezing paint directly onto the canvas from the tube.

Laszlo Moholy-Nagy

Laszlo Moholy-Nagy - photography from NARA - 281845.jpg
Laszlo Moholy-Nagy was a Hungarian painter and photographer who believed that humanity could only defeat the fracturing experience of modernity. He also thought that artists' understanding of vision had to specialize and modernize.
Photogram (1926)
Laszlo Moholy-Nagy was fascinated by light throughout his career, so he create this photo gram. He laid everyday objects on light-sensitive paper before exposing them to light. This photo, the paintbrush lain over his hands.

This photo offered the opportunity to show the light and shade. Laszlo Moholy-Nagy said, he lain the light-sensitive paper before the light.

For me, I think Laszlo Moholy-Nagy could easily using light and dark to finish his photograph. He was good at using bright part connect with dark part of the tools, then put them together. I can see this not only in his photo works, but also some of his painting project. Such as the work composition A 19 posted in 1927. He used the color to show people lights and dark.
