Fine Art 2.7

About Giotto.
Giotto was an Italian painter and architect from Florence during the Late Middle Ages. That time was the Renaissance period. He was making a decisive break with the prevalent Byzantine style and as initiating"the great art of painting as we know it today, introducing the technique of drawing accurately from life, which had been neglected for more than two hundred years."
From the piece of work The Lamentation. There are angels, people and Jesus laying on the ground. The background was the mountains and a dead wood. The emphasize things are the yellow color of the halos. It stands out Jesus laying on the ground and everyone were surrounding him. The angels were also looking at him.  The strange thing is that the people on the back didn't have halos. Only the church person and the angels have halos.

About Yves Tanguy.
He was a famous French surrealist painter. The surrealist feature the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions and non sequitur. His painting have a unique, immediately recognizable style of nonrepresentational surrealism. I could easily understand from his work much better than Miro's works. Miro's works are much more abstract and not really easy to understand. Yves Tanguy's works can easy to see and understand what he wants to express.

About Joan Miro.
He was a painter, sculptor and ceramicist who was born in Spain, 1893.
His early works were showing the influence od Cezanne, and fill the canvas with a colorful surface and a more painterly treatment than the hard-edge style of most od his later works. His soon developed his work style. Organic forms and flattened picture planes drawn with a sharp line.
Most of his later works make me feel clean when I see the whole page of the art works. Not like the colorful painting, but simple and nice. And the works are abstract but good to see.

Art Portfolio 2.3

I found the artist called Antony Micallef, I really like his art works because some of his style looks like mine. He paints the portraits without face, using the pigments and covers on the whole page. He says that he always paints himself, he doesn't need a model. He said, the best art for him is about discovery, and if he is having fun with it, then generally it's enjoyed by someone else too. All of his arts are colorful and all of them without painting faces.
